The brief

A regional museum had a decade of field recordings, water samples and hand-drawn surveys, and no way to show how they connected.

What we made

A 40-metre wall map drawn at a single scale, with every stream labelled in the words of the person who surveyed it. Online, the same map becomes an archive you can walk upstream through, recording by recording.

The exhibition toured to three venues, and the archive is now used by two universities.
