The brief

An independent magazine about buildings nobody else writes about: water towers, bus shelters, the concrete of the 1970s. The editors wanted it to feel like a field guide rather than a coffee-table object.

What we made

A strict editorial system: one serif, five sizes, a 12-column grid and photographs that are always full-bleed or not at all. There are no cover lines, just one building and the issue number. Long-form pieces open with a hand-drawn site plan by the writer.

Issue 07 was shortlisted for a European editorial design award, and the print run has tripled.
